Hello friends! My name is Audra and I'm so excited to begin this adventure with you. My hope as I write this blog is that I can be completely REAL with you. I want to share stories from my own life that have brought me to the place I am today. But, authenticity can be tricky. My prayer as I write is that stories that I share of my own personal sin will never seem justified or acceptable and that every single time it will point you straight to Jesus! See, just like you I have seen some hard times and I've most definitely had to deal with sin. But my story doesn’t end there, because I have the hope of Jesus Christ in my life. He turns even the worst of stories out for our good and His glory!
I am not a writer by nature and putting my own life story out for everyone to see has been absolutely terrifying, but I’m learning to walk by faith. One of my former pastors, Dr. Charles Stanley says, “Obey God and leave all the consequences to Him.” This has been a process in my life but in every situation the Lord has proved Himself faithful. So here it goes. My own authentic story.
By Faith I:
Have learned so very much about how God loves me and how He has a plan to grow me, refine me and use me for His glory! Fear and anxiety were a big part of my life as a young mother and I struggled to get past them. By faith, the Lord led me through those days and nights and taught me so much in the process.
There was also a very serious illness that threatened to take me down. It’s something I still struggle with today, but by faith, God Himself has taught me to depend on Him and His strength and not my own.
Being a pastor’s wife is not always easy. Some days are stacked full of incredible blessings. While others are filled with sadness, death, unkind people and Satan’s attacks. But by faith, I am learning to focus on the JOY that this calling brings.
These are just a few of the fires the Lord has used in my life to refine me and bring me to the place I am today. Were they fun? Not always. Were they easy? NO WAY! But I wouldn’t trade what I have learned through them and how my faith in the Lord has grown.
My husband Jordan and I are called to ministry and he is the senior pastor at our church. We have two beautiful children who bring us much joy, lots of laughs, and on occasion new grey hairs. I have a heart for women to know Jesus personally, know His Word, and know how to apply that to their own lives. Many of my stories are about motherhood because being a mom is the hardest, scariest, and most rewarding job of my life. I want women to know that they can walk in victory with Jesus and teach their kids how to as well.
I’m not perfect by any means but I think God uses that imperfection to help me relate to others who also may not be perfect. So… if that’s you, read away! I hope you can see yourself in many of my stories and I pray it will lead you closer to HIM!
