Just in case you missed any, here is a recap of our posts from this week! Enjoy!
Girls, God’s Word is TRUE! We can trust it. It never fails us. What decision, problem, or issue are you faced with today? Find a verse to claim over your situation. Read it, pray it, memorize it.
I was just talking with someone the other day who’s family member is so confused about their faith. They hear so many different opinions of “religion” and they are not sure what is truth. There is one thing that never changes and that is God’s Word. It’s inspired by God and should never be added to or taken away from. If you ever feel confused because you have different opinions thrown at you, just get into the Word. Read it and discover truth for yourself.
Oh, what I wouldn’t give to sit at the feet of Jesus and pour out my affection like Mary did! I would gladly sacrifice my costliest possession because HE IS SO WORTHY OF IT! If only I had that same opportunity!
Or, maybe I do.
But what if? What if the job doesn’t improve, the spouse doesn’t change, the kid doesn’t wise up, the ______________ doesn’t change? Then what? Do we live in neutral or in a “woe is me” state or just give up?
God didn’t create us and put us in this time-period, in this location, in this situation for us to give up! As Christ-followers, we have the power of the living God inside of us!
After a life of picture perfect health, I was now suffering the effects of a rapidly failing liver and was suddenly thrust into a life of sickness that I had never known or even imagined. Your mind takes you places that you don't want to go and you have to make decisions that you don't want to make. With an uncertain future on the horizon, I began to see things through a different lens
Some of our favorite ways to make a difference in the world around us.
This week's memory work looks overwhelming and undoable. Yet, I've learned when I memorize that if I break it into smaller portions, it's doable and not overwhelming!
I like to write the Scripture I'm memorizing on a notecard. I put one phrase per line and might even draw a small picture to help me memorize. I then work on memorizing one line a day.
How about you? What tricks do you use to memorize longer passages of Scripture?
Why memorize Scripture? It comforts us when our hearts are sad; it teaches us when our hearts are hungry, and it corrects us when our hearts are wrong. Therefore, it is good for us to store God’s Word in our heart.
Where to begin? The heart of our blog is revealed in its name, By Faith She. It was conceived from Hebrews 11, the “Heroes of the Faith” chapter filled with ordinary people who followed God with all their heart and will forever be known for their heroic faith. We, too, want to be known for heroic faith, so we are choosing to memorize Hebrews 11 this year. We’d love for you to join us!
